Promoting literacy worldwide is the main purpose of our parent organization, the International Reading Association (IRA). Each year, on IRA’s behalf, local IRA councils give a “Celebrate Literacy Award” to an agency, individual program, or organization that has made a significant contribution to the promotion of literacy.

The Orange County Reading Association has given this award to the following agencies, programs, and organizations:
